I like the size of this pastel. The only draw back to changing sizes is that I cannot reuse my existing frames. I am also growing to like uart paper more and more. It doesn't use up pastels as much as other papers and it lays flat when I glue it to boards. I plan on doing a horizontal piece soon. I"m thinking I will drive to Galena and sit at this overlook and do some sketching for some pastels. I would like a long narrow pastel of an abstracted landscape.
I have published three books by using Blurb. I have published a portfolio, a journal and a day planner with my artwork. I am thinking of writing a more thorough book on creating abstractions with pastel and taking those to workshops I will be doing next year. I am thrilled that I have sold some books already and that people want books with my artwork. I am not making much money on these but I don't really care. That is not the reason that I am doing it.
I will not be able to attend the opening at Abend Gallery in Denver today. I wish that I could as I would love to meet the other artists in the Miniature Show and see Colorado again. Find myself listening to lots of John Denver lately and reflecting back to my trip to Denver and Evergreen in August. I love those Rocky Mountains!

Your abstract pastel paintings are always so beautiful, this being no exception. Great job!
