Still working out the "kinks". Taking notes on process and keeping a notebook in my studio. Liking this one better. Going to forgo the expensive paper for awhile and just play. Thinking of trying a self portrait again. Haven't done one for years. I used to do one at least every year and have quite a collection. It might be good to go back to representational from time to time to find that foundation again. I believe abstraction has its roots in representational. It is just another way of looking for me. I could always draw representationally but it was never really expressive enough for me. That is why I left it behind.
would love to see a collection of the self-portraits...what a great idea for starting the new year each january: to execute a self-portrait!
