Vivid Landscape

Vivid Landscape
6x12
pastel on Wallis paper
275.00 unframed

Here is another pastel on some salvaged paper.  I've also had some odds and ends of nupastels around and have not used them until the last two days.  Now I want some more.  It makes things so much easier.  I like to see lines with some movement showing through my work and the nupastels make that so much easier.  I've enjoyed doing these and am taking previously completed pastels that just didn't work and cutting them up to experiment with color.  I also like the long format and plan to frame these in the black plein air frames with the gold interior strip.

Made my first sale at Artful Home today.  I have been on this site for over a year.  An artist asked me about it yesterday and I said that I had not had any sales and now today I have my first.  Strange.  I am making giclees of the textural abstracts I have done on the Stonehenge paper with ground.  I thought they would make very nice prints and I'm happy that someone else thought so also.

I have committed myself to attending a pastel workshop at the end of March.  I will be attending a workshop in Illinois by a PSA member.  Looking forward to it allot.  I don't want to say much about it at this point but will write about it when it is finished.  I hope to learn some new ways of looking at things and using the materials.  I also hope to learn about workshop structure and process.  I'll be taking a lot in.

  1. congratulations on your sale! This work makes my heart throb -- awesome, esp. with about a foot of snow outside!
